ABOUT I am not a photographer or artist by trade. In fact, my two primary professions (military aviation and medicine) have required a significant level of detachment and dedication to cold science and engineering. The last creative period of my life was as a teenager when I had dreams of becoming a wildlife photographer. I seem to recall wanting to spend months lying in the snow waiting for wolf packs or owls to happen by. I even studied population biology in college as part of that plan. I might have followed through with those goals if I hadn't first been seduced by Naval Aviation. It's now 20 years, another career change, and four children later. My interest in photography is now more personal. For me, art and photography are about exploring a side of myself that was deliberately neglected during flight school, Desert Storm, medical school, residency, and the last several years of building a practice. A lot of this is about connecting with my children and giving them some insight into the things I find beautiful or meaningful.
I hope you enjoy my photographs even a fraction of how much I have enjoyed taking them.
